Good Morning HD Karns Parents,

On behalf of our staff, we want to Welcome you to the HD Karns Building for the 2020-2021 School Year.  We look forward to having your students back in the building after our mandated closure due to the Pandemic.

While we know the Virus is, still around, we believe that we have put in place the safety measures that will allow us to have students and staff in the building in a way that we can be as safe as possible.  Of course, there is not a 100 percent guarantee someone would not get sick but what we can say is, if our guidelines are followed, there is a much better chance we can safely have school with very little worry.

We will be putting out a reentry plan, in the next several weeks, that will detail are operation from arrival to dismissal for students and staff.  I can assure you that our mitigation efforts to maintain a safe building will include wearing masks, taking temperatures, sanitizing rooms multiple times daily, maintaining social distancing and ensuring the washing of hands.

Since we have smaller learning groups, it makes it easier for us to provide a safer learning environment.  You, as parents,  can help by ensuring that your student has facial masks or coverings that are school appropriate and worn daily on the busses and in the buildings, has a water bottle they can refill throughout the day and that they do not arrive at the bus or the building with a temperature higher than 100.4.

Please also, insure to call the school at (785) 717-4710 if your child will be absence from school, by 9:00 am., so we can insure our attendance numbers.  You may call the number above at any time and leave a message, if it is not answered.

Again, thank you for allowing your students to attend the HD Karns building.  We look forward to a good school year and working with you.  At any time if you have any questions please, feel free to call me I want to be able to help you and your students be successful.
