Graduation is one of the biggest and most important milestones for young adults. However, not all students reach this accomplishment using a traditional path. Some students may arrive on this day using alternative methods.
Today, two students at the HD Karns Innovations Academy were able to use an alternative path to reach this incredibly important milestone. The Senior class, staff, and families were on hand to celebrate this achievement with them.
Sebastion Adair
Sebastion came to HD Karns just a few months ago. He knew he wanted to finish high school early so that he could begin working on his future goals. His desire to accomplish his goals quickly brought him to the Academy, and he did not disappoint. Sebastion was able to complete his credits and graduate ahead of schedule and in only a few months. He used this opportunity to enter the workforce, once he finished school. He is now working to save money to attend a technical school in the future. “I want a computer-based career,” he says.
Kinsey Graham
Kinsey has been at HD Karns for almost a full year. She arrived at the Academy in January. After an adjustment period, she began to stand out to her teachers and peers as a bright and artistically talented student. One teacher commented, “She became a joy to be around.” Kinsey already has plans for her future. She plans to attend Barton College in the spring for classes on being an EMT. She is considering a career as a firefighter or a paramedic.
Both graduates had tables filled with family and loved ones to support them and celebrate this accomplishment.
